Dear participants of the Forum Agenda 21 Gavorrano
part of the Focus Group on Waste, the met on Tuesday, October 12 to continue on our path for study and research on waste management.
We started to categorize all the questions that had arisen during the last meeting. Essentially
categories that emerged are 4: 1
- Laws and Regulations: European, national, regional, provincial and municipal
2 - corporate struture of Co.S.Ec.A. of Energy that operates the Scarborough? Incinerator, the Company which manages the landfill and mats that operates the landfill of CEH Strillaie;
3 - Data on waste collection in the Province and the Municipality of Gavorrano, in comparison with the neighboring villages
4 - Good Practices (Italian and European)
The idea is to split into four subgroups, each of which deepens one of the four macro issues and then reports to the other at the next meeting.
Other ideas discussed were:
- Making a meeting with the officials of the City that deal with waste
- Experiment, in agreement with the City, some pilot project in some village and a proper information campaign. Susanne
proposed to speak to a course that she followed in Monaco, Germany, in early 90s, to go house to house, door to door to do the work of information and educaione.
The effect on waste reduction was seen immediately in the year after the campaign. Please note that the
