I initially chose a young architect, who seemed prepared and with such good will, but in reality I was unprepared in knowing how to assess which aspects are essential for achieving good results.
The architect who had chosen it, seemed to have some experience in the field of timber construction, construction type that fascinated me, and appeared confident, with good dynamics and a "talking" too strong.
The choice turned out to be sadly mistaken : 5 months of phone calls, chat and great loss of time on a project totally inadequate compared to the budget that we set.
Despite several attempts on his part to change the original idea in the end, after 5 ½ months in a week it has completely distorted the architecture of "surrendering" to deliver a project much easier and closer to our original Directive but unfortunately still unfit and budget requests, and not entirely satisfactory from the aesthetic point of view.
I find myself at this point to re-evaluate some designers that I had initially contacted with a different eye, and certainly with some knowledge in more than a year ago, as well as with some certainty that I had not before. The buildings in xlam fact still have a value for money very inconvenient and I still leave some doubt on technical points.
providers of this construction are "riding the wave" and the prices amply demonstrate. The difficulties I have encountered just to get some estimates (over 1 month for the delivery of preventive and other telephone solicitations to send to have it all ...) are significant: they required that go beyond their productive potential and can therefore afford to "pump" prices and choose the clients depending on the time and reloading.
As for me I did not hurry and I do not give up, the search continues.
